These terms describe how private yacht charters with Star Sailing Club are booked and operated. Booking a charter with us means you agree to the points below.
Booking and payment
A charter is confirmed once we have agreed the yacht, date, route and price with you in writing (including WhatsApp or other messengers) and any agreed deposit has been received. The remaining balance is payable as agreed at the time of booking. Prices are quoted per charter, not per person, unless stated otherwise.
What is included
Each quotation states exactly what is included for your specific yacht and route - typically the captain and crew, fuel for the agreed itinerary, soft drinks and drinking water, and the equipment carried on board. National park fees, alcohol, special catering and other extras are listed separately when applicable.
Weather and route changes
Safety comes first. The captain may adjust the route, the anchorages or the schedule if weather or sea conditions require it. If conditions make the planned trip unsafe, we will offer an alternative route or another date. Route changes made for safety reasons do not constitute a cancellation of the charter.
Cancellations
Cancellation terms are stated in your booking confirmation, as they can differ by yacht and season. If a trip cannot go ahead because of weather and no alternative can be agreed, the deposit is transferred to a new date of your choice.
Guest responsibilities
Guests agree to follow the crew's safety instructions at all times, to board with the agreed number of people, and to treat the yacht and its equipment with care. Guests are responsible for damage caused by negligence. The number of guests may not exceed the vessel's licensed capacity.
Liability
Charters are operated on licensed, insured vessels with professional crews. Star Sailing Club is not liable for delays or changes caused by weather, force majeure or circumstances beyond our control, or for loss of personal belongings on board.
